– Dr. Mitchell Akrie
Born and raised in Centennial, Colorado, Dr. Mitchell Akrie is a dedicated and compassionate dentist who strives to make every patient feel truly seen, heard, and cared for. His mission is to help each person feel comfortable and confident with their smile—not just by treating teeth, but by understanding and supporting the whole person behind the smile.
After earning his Bachelor of Science from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska in 2021, Dr. Akrie went on to graduate Cum Laude with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Creighton University School of Dentistry in 2025. His commitment to excellence in academics was matched by a desire to build strong patient relationships and provide meaningful, individualized care.
Dr. Akrie brings a strong foundation in comprehensive general dentistry, including preventive care, restorative treatments, and cosmetic procedures. He is known for his calm demeanor, attentive listening, and thorough explanations that empower patients to take an active role in their oral health. He believes that lasting results come from collaboration—by taking time to understand each patient’s goals, concerns, and lifestyle, he’s able to deliver care that is not only clinically sound but also aligned with their values and well-being.
His journey in dentistry began long before dental school—Dr. Akrie worked as a dental assistant during his undergraduate summers beginning in 2018, giving him over seven years of hands-on experience in the dental field. This early exposure helped shape his approach to patient care and taught him the importance of empathy, teamwork, and clear communication. During college, he was also a proud member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS), reflecting his commitment to academic excellence and leadership.
Deeply committed to service, Dr. Akrie has volunteered for the Iowa Mission of Mercy and the Nebraska Mission of Mercy, where he provided essential dental care to underserved populations. He also spent three weeks in Des Moines, Iowa, treating patients in community health settings. He is proud to continue that work locally by volunteering at the 2025 Colorado Mission of Mercy, where he looks forward to helping Coloradans access the care they need.
Dr. Akrie is passionate about lifelong learning and staying at the forefront of dental innovation. During dental school, he pursued continuing education in dental implants through ZimVie and completed additional coursework focused on public health and sleep-related disorders—areas that reflect his interest in whole-body health and the broader impact of oral care. He is excited to be part of a collaborative team that shares his dedication to education, clinical excellence, and compassionate, patient-centered dentistry.

Outside the office, Dr. Akrie enjoys hiking, golfing, fishing, cheering on Colorado sports teams, and supporting local charities. Whether he’s in the operatory or out in the community, he brings heart, humility, and a commitment to making a positive difference.
