Your first comprehensive care visit is a very important one.
Dr. Owens and his staff schedule ample time to get to know you and your concerns, expectations, and goals. Our goal for new patients at this visit is to give them an overall picture of their oral health. We also want to inform patients of any relevant risk factors that could lead to issues in future.
welcome to owens dental!
We’re so glad you found us! We’ve created this page to help patients prepare for their new patient appointments at our office, and to know what to expect at that visit. We look forward to seeing you soon!
comprehensive care visit
Before your appointment:
- Please fill out the New Patient Paperwork as soon as possible so we can create your file.
- Have you been to another office recently? If you want to transfer xrays, please fill out the Records Release Authorization so we can arrange that, or if you are requesting records yourself, please make sure they are sent to us before this appointment.
- Do you have dental insurance? See below for details and please send us photos of the front and back of your dental insurance card to firstname.lastname@example.org.
- No dental insurance? Ask us about our self-pay new patient special!
Our staff takes the time to get to know you and goes above and beyond to make you feel at home and comfortable. We do ask that you fill out New Patient Paperwork shortly after making your appointment so we can create a file for you. The patient portal will ask you for the date of your appointment, and just put today’s date if you haven’t made your appointment yet.
Dr. Owens and Dr. Packer have a comprehensive approach to dentistry that shows in this appointment. Your dentist and hygienist will take a thorough look at your overall oral health, including a thorough examination of your teeth and periodontal (gum) health, a jaw joint and muscle evaluation, and an oral cancer screening.
If you have recent x-rays that you would like to transfer in, fill out this Records Release Authorization form and we can contact your previous dentist to obtain them. Otherwise, we can take complete x-rays here in our office. We will also take photographs, as recommended by the AACD, and to aid Dr. Owens and Dr. Packer in the comprehensive evaluation.
Diagnosis & Risk Factors
Based on the images and exam, Dr. Owens and Dr. Packer will inform you of any diagnosis of current conditions. They also analyze your risk for tooth decay, periodontal disease, and dysfunctional occlusion, as well as steps you can take now to prevent future issues.
We love helping patients achieve their goals! Please share any dental goals and timelines with your dentist and hygienist during the appointment. They can share how we can help you reach your goals, whether they are cosmetic or function related, and come up with a timeline and budget that works for you.
We’re happy to submit to your dental insurance plan on your behalf! Just send photos of the front and back of your dental insurance card to email@example.com. If your plan offers limited out of network benefits, we strongly recommend checking your insurance portal to see which of our doctors is in network with your plan prior to calling to schedule. If you have any questions, please give us a call at 970-377-2557.
No insurance? No problem! We offer a new patient comprehensive appointment special for non-insured patients: $255! This includes $155 for your comprehensive exam, records and any xrays + $100 for a regular cleaning. If you are diagnosed with periodontal disease and require a deeper cleaning, we will put the $100 towards the cost of a deep cleaning and will likely schedule for a second appointment to complete your periodontal treatment. Also, ask us about our savings plan for future appointments! Questions? No problem! Give us a call at 970-377-2557, we’re happy to help!
